Global Bookshop Crawl 2026

Are you up for a bookshop adventure? Join us for the #GlobalBookCrawl 2026!

This is the first year Aotearoa has taken part in this exciting globe-spanning event, and we have so many amazing bookshops to explore!
Collect a GBC passport from participating bookstores, collect stamps from the stores you visit, then hand in your passport to be in to win awesome bookish prizes!
Visit and collect stamps from any 3 participating stores around Auckland from April 20th to April 26th to enter. After you've collected 3 stamps, each additional stamp will give you an extra entry in the prize draw. We've got signed books, book vouchers, stickers, bookmarks, trinkets and more up for grabs!

Bookshop Day started in Aotearoa 10 years ago, in 2015, and is run by the Booksellers Association of New Zealand to encourage book lovers, like you, to celebrate your local bookshop.

Aotearoa New Zealand Bookshop Day on 12th October 2024 is a day aimed at celebrating all the amazing bookshops across Aotearoa and is an initiative created by the good people at Booksellers Aotearoa NZ.

Booksellers NZ have created this limited-edition tote bag, with amazing artwork from Māori Mermaid, especially for Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day 2024.
